Between our neighbor and ourselves, we spoke with 6 different customer service reps. over TV going out after a storm.
The internet was working fine. We went through all of the steps turning router off/on, and dvr box off/on and were finally told a tech needed to come out. First opening was 3 days later. The tech was knowledgeable, professional and friendly.
It took him less than 10 minutes to get our TV back. All we had to do was physically unplug every box, unplug and re-plug in the router. Once the router was up, we plugged all of the boxes back in and it was fixed! Why in the world were the customer service/call center employees not aware of such a simple fix, and instead Cincinnati Bell goes to the expense of sending someone out for such a simple thing?
We shared this fix with our neighbors who were scheduled for a tech to come out next week, and it worked for all of them. Ridiculous!
Please make sure your reps are aware of this simple procedure instead of making your customers go without service for so long. I understand that there could be other issues and this fix won't always work all the time but seriously, give them the knowledge!
